Course Overview
This short but comprehensive course is designed for anyone who requires a greater depth of knowledge when working in and around confined spaces, along with a requirement to test confined spaces, issue permits and also undertakes any risk assessment. Whilst a participant is able to complete this course without any pre-requisites, it would be advantageous to hold an existing certification for entering and working in a confined space. Should you wish to gain this qualification also, then our 2 day Confined Space Entry course would be more beneficial to you. Confined space refresher training is recommended every 12-24 months under Australian Standard AS2865-2009.
Course Outline
- Prepare for and test gas
- Identify hazards from possible atmosphere contaminants
- Correct use of gas testing equipment as required
- Use of Lockout and Tag Out as methods of isolation
- Maintain equipment
- Identify, prepare and issue work permits
- Monitor work for compliance
- Receive reports and handover permits
- Close permit and complete documentation
- Identify hazards and assess risk
- Identify, assess and implement risk treatments
- Complete records and reports for hazards
