Successful participants will receive a statement of attainment for ‘Certificate III in Mine Response and Rescue training which is nationally recognised under the Australian Qualifications framework.

This statement is issued by Promed International (RTO 40705)

Module 1 - Provide First Aid (1 day + pre-course work)

Module 2 - Generic Induction (GI) - Standard 11 Compliant (3 days)

Module 3 - Operate Breathing Apparatus (1 day)

Module 4 - Confined Space Rescue (2 days)

  • PUASAR025A - Undertake confined space rescue

Module 4 Prerequisites:

    • Participants must have successfully completed our Confined Space Entry (One Day) course or hold equivalent competencies.
    • Participants must also hold PUAFIR207B Operate breathing apparatus open circuit OR MSAPMOHS216A Operate breathing apparatus (can be gained in Module 3).

Module 5 - Vertical Rescue (4 days)

  • PUASAR032A - Undertake vertical rescue
  • PUAFIR215 - Prevent injury
  • PUAEME001B - Provide emergency care
  • PUASAR022A - Participate in a rescue operation

Module 6 - Road Crash Rescue (3 days)

  • PUASAR024A - Undertake road crash rescue
  • PUAEME002C - Manage injuries at emergency incident

Module 6 Prerequisite:

    • PUAEME001B - Provide emergency care (can be gained in Module 4 or 5)

Module 7 - HAZMAT Response (2 days)

  • PUAFIR320 - Render hazardous materials incidents safe
  • PUAFIR316 - Identify, detect and monitor hazardous materials at an incident
  • PMAOHS211B - Prepare equipment for emergency response

Module 7 Prerequisites:

    • PUAFIR215 - Prevent injury (can be gained in Module 3, 4 or 5)
    • PUAFIR207B - Operate breathing apparatus open circuit OR MSAPMOHS216A Operate breathing apparatus (can be gained in Module 3)
Course Overview

Promed International’s highly experienced and knowledgeable instructors will guide participants through both theory and practical applications of this comprehensive course, giving them the skills, knowledge and confidence to enter the workplace and carry out their role.

This qualification reflects the role of response and rescue team members who work in a mine site or a construction site, who perform tasks involving a broad range of skilled applications applied in a wide variety of contexts, which may involve application of some discretion and judgement in selecting equipment, services or contingency measures.

Participants may choose wether to complete the course in an intensive block or to attend each module at their own pace.

Participant Requirements
  • Participants must have previously attended our 1 day Confined space entry course or hold equivalent certification.
  • Participants must be clean shaven (Required under AS 1715 for Breathing apparatus)
  • This training course provides very realistic and physical scenarios, therefore it is important that all participants are willing and capable of wearing a 15kg breathing apparatus set whilst moving around in dark, possibly smoky, confined spaces AND willing and capable of moving about at height on towers or other high structures. If you do not possess the fitness and strength, you will be unable to demonstrate competence required for the vertical rescue module of this course.
